If you are experiencing issues with your VPN after the latest June update. Don’t worry it isn’t your config! It’s a known issue that is reported to affect almost 50 million users.

This was confirmed by Microsoft that the Remote Access Connection Manager (RASMAN) service may stop working affecting particularly the users who uses an Always ON VPN connection.

Microsoft said that “You may receive the error “0xc0000005” on devices where the diagnostic data level is manually configured to the non-default setting of 0,”

It was also stated that “You may also receive an error in the Application section of Windows Logs in Event Viewer with Event ID 1000 referencing ‘svchost.exe_RasMan’ and ‘rasman.dll’.”

The affected users would mainly be those who use VPN’s for business reasons. Microsoft has confirmed that they are working on a solution that will be available in late July.
